The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, citing law No. 121-FZ of 20 July 2012 ‘On amendments to particular legislative acts of the Russian Federation concerning the regulation of the activities of non-profit organizations acting as a foreign agent’, has included the Moscow School of Civic Education in the register of organizations acting as foreign agents.

We consider that there are no grounds for the decision to designate our organization a foreign agent and we intend to uphold our position in the courts.

We are convinced that the civic education of Russian citizens, including education in history and law, is an extremely important task for our country, and one that is essential for the successful development and further democratization of Russia. This is precisely the kind of educational work in which the Moscow School of Civic Education has been engaged for more than 20 years. We consider this to be the main endeavour of our lives, and we shall do everything possible to continue our work.
