Dagestan: Those Arrested in front of Kirovsky District Police Department Convicted of Administrative Offence

On May 21, 2012 cases of an administrative offence in relation to the detained persons on May 19 in front of the Kirovskiy district police department were considered at the Kirovskiy magistrate’s court in Makhachkala, Dagestan. For updated information, nine people were detained. The defendants were: Myamma Ramazanov, Shamil Gaparov, Azdar Vagabov, Artem Alkhasov, Magomed Ichalov, Zakir Salikhov, Salim Mirzabekov, Hiramagomed Magomedov and Shamil Abdurazakov. The judge found them guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Art. 20.1 (disorderly conduct) of the Administrative Code of Russian Federation and appointed a punishment of three to five days' imprisonment (see the decision of impose of administrative penalties against Hiramagomed Magomedov: http://www.memo.ru/uploads/img/1982.jpeghttp://www.memo.ru/uploads/img/1983.jpeg). According to the employee of the Human Rights Center "Memorial" who saw the defendants in the courthouse, bruises and abrasions were visible on the faces of some of defendants. [Read more
