Makhachkala: Women and Children are not Released from Blocked House

On May 18, 2012 at about 5 p.m. in the Kirovskiy district of Makhachkala at Yubileinaya St., 1, a special operation has started. Media, with reference to security officials, reported that the militant, "who was involved in the terrorist attack in Makhachkala on May 3rd" was blocked in that house. As for 11:30pm (May 18) vehicle came to a place of special operation, the evacuation of neighboring homes was started, everything was being
prepared for the assault. Relatives of one of the men caught up in the house appealed for help to the Human Rights Center "Memorial". We appealed to the State Duma member from Dagestan, the Republican Chairman of the Commission for adaptation of militants Rizvan Kurbanov. At his request, we contacted the men locked in the house, Makhmud and Abdurakhman and found out that, besides them, there were three women and two children - a two-month and a 14 months old. The Chairman of the Committee "Civic Assistance" Svetlana Gannushkina talked with the women.
