On March 14, 2012, Sapiat Magomedova, a lawyer with the bar association “A.S. Omarov and Partners”, received a ruling from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Dagestan, stating that the case involving members of the Khasavyurt Police Department who beat her on June 17, 2010, had been closed. The document also stated that the case in which Magomedova was accused of using violence against the police officers had also been closed.

We remind you that on June 17, 2010, members of the Special Fire Team in the Patrol Service of the Khasavyurt Police Department, Batirbi Magdiev and Nariman Mollaev, beat Sapiat Magomedova in the building of the City Police Department. As a result, two criminal cases were opened – one against the police officers accused of the crime under Item A, Parts 2 & 3, Article 286 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and a second against Sapiat herself, who was accused of hitting the police officers.
