 Memorial Human Rights Centre On April 14, 2012, at 2 pm, in Makhachkala, the Republic of Dagestan a press conference of the bar association “Caucasus”, dedicated to the murder of the lawyer Umar Saidmagomedov will take place in the HRC “Memorial” office at business center “Grand Plaza” (Dzerzhinskogo str, 17b, 4th floor, room 11). Let us recall, on January 20, 2012, the lawyer and his relative Rasul Kurbanov were killed by law-enforcement officers at around 9:30 pm at Kotrova str in Makhachkala. According to investigation version, Kurbanov started shooting when law-enforcement authorities tried to stop his car for ID check. Rasul and Umar were killed by return fire. There were a submachine gun, cartridges and a grenade in the car.
